Curation

What a piece has to clear to be listed.

These are the conditions in the system, not a description of good intentions. A listing that fails one of them cannot be published.

  1. 01 · Sourcing

    An approved supplier

A piece can only be listed by a supplier who has been reviewed and approved for this catalogue.

  2. 02 · Photography

    The piece you will receive

One-of-a-kind items are photographed individually, with a scale shot and a close detail of the texture.

  3. 03 · Measurement

    Weight and dimensions

Nothing is published without real weight and measurements — they decide the shipping you are quoted.

  4. 04 · Review

    What we can actually say

Material and origin are stated only where they have been reviewed. Where they have not, we say nothing rather than guess.

  5. 05 · Listing

    Published with its policy

Processing time and the return terms that apply to that category are on the page before you buy.

Two of these are worth saying plainly. A one-of-a-kind listing shows the piece you will receive, photographed individually — not a representative example. And where a listing covers a batch, the photographs show the range of variation we have approved, because natural stone varies in colour, pattern and inclusions and no photograph of one piece can stand for another.

We do not describe what a stone will do for you. What we will tell you is what it is, how big it is, what it weighs, and what happens if it arrives and it is not right.
